Beully, there's some Ducati ones available on eBay from the UK, though I think they are clutch cover and left hand side alternator covers. Not sure if they are compliant - they look a bit flimsy.
The Ducati 916/996/998 cases are not wider than the frame on the right. On the left it's about 20mm wider, but it's covered by the water pump and therefore it's impossible for it to hit the ground.
The rule however says 'engine cases that contain fluid' so bikes whose water pump is part of the casing would need a protector too if it's the widest part. On a Duc, the water pump is not part of the engine cases, so I interpret it as meaning no protectors necessary on my bike. If there is one necessary, I'll argue that the water pump is more than 20mm thick and acts as the protector.
