If fact, the slower one is traveling the more chance there is of punching a hole in a case. A slow crash is likely to hit a case more solidly rather than a faster crash when it is more likely just to slide. The damage is usually caused by the initial impact.
And you would know this because you have had plenty of slow crashes rather then fast crashes...
